did you take a look in the logfile of xbmc ? under ~/.xbmc/temp/xbmc.log. Also which xbmc version, hardware do you use ?

Otherwise we have to use a crystal ball, but unfortunately my iball is broken Wink

It was the latest version and was running on Ubuntu 11.10. Can you help me find the logs? I have no clue, I looked where you said and never seen a xbmc under my home folder

i mean the home from the user, who is running the xbmc service.

With a normal "ls -l" you will not see this directory, because its a hidden one. "ls -la .xbmc" in this home directory should show you something like:

drwx-r-x-r-x xbmc xbmc .xbmc

How much memory do you have?
What type of CPU do you have?

Hint: Install ATOP (sudo apt-get install atop)
This may sow whats going on behind the scenes

My XBMC 11.10 ran fine for days/weeks then it choked. Reboot did nothing.
ATOP showed it was swapping a lot when XBMC was running
I set swappiness to 1 and that fixed my problem
*cant say this fix will work for you though

Good luck

I have it on an older system with a pentium 4. It's 32bit Ubuntu and I just realized it is only seeing 2gb when I have 4 installed. It should see about 3.2 or something correct? I will download atop tonight when I get home.
