Hello,
I am leaning towards building this HTPC....I would like to know if you have metrics on the noise that it produces....Would you call it a "silent" htpc?

In addition would you recommend as a chasis for this built the Thermaltake Armor A30?

I assume that this built is capable of running 1080p and downloading torrents in the background.

Thank you very much

only annoying noise will come from the CPU FAN...
therfor, u should buy a new CPU cooler for the matter..

if your ok with the Thermaltake Armor case size, then, yeah why not!

but you'll need buy a PSU
and that case has a CPU cooler height limitation of 90mm which is more then enough Tongue

and since it accepts microATX motherboards then, go for that

Wow! Thanks for this post, and for the many references. I wish I would have found this before my first HTPC build.

A few questions on this build using the A8-3850:

Is the aftermarket cooler necessary in a mini-itx case? How about in a micro-ATX?
Is the case fan required? If so, is it just due to the design of this case, or would it be recommended for any mini-itx case?

Again, thanks for this info!!

This "SILVERSTONE Sugo Series SG06-B Black Aluminum Mini-ITX" case included quality PSU and case fan. As far as CPU cooler, you can try the included CPU cooler first. If you are okay with it, you don't have to replace it.
