Audio Problem Suddenly - Need direction on what to look for.
#1
Two movies recently added to my system suddenly have suffered an audio problem. Seems to happen only in one place in both of them. I skip forward and everything returns to normal. 5.1 sound is showing in the normal mode, then the audio drops out and the receiver shows PCM and 2Channel audio (although no sound is coming out).

The debug log shows some errors - one mentioning pulseaudio. I've searched for that and read many posts, but I don't really know what I'm looking for...or what steps I should now take. Some expert help would be appreciated.

This is the output of "aplay -l

Code:
xbmc@XBMCLive:~$ aplay -l

card 0: NVidia [HDA NVidia], device 3: NVIDIA HDMI [NVIDIA HDMI]
  Subdevices: 1/1

xbmc@XBMCLive:~$

My setup is in my sig. I'm running Dharma 10.0 I believe. I'm using HDMI (video) with optical audio. (I couldn't get audio over HDMI to work??)

The system has been as it is for a long time, so not sure why this has happened. Thx.

I was really hoping someone with some expertise could assist me with this. I've been reading 100's of posts about audio problems etc, trying to get to the bottom of this. No such luck.

I've since had another movie do the same thing - audio drops out (showing 2 channels on receiver though ...but NO sound). If I skip forward/backward the sound returns. It always drop out in the same place in all three movies.

I thought it was a rip problem - have used many different versions ripped different ways - always the same. Played back file using xbox, Poweredvd in computer, vlc in puter and the files play flawlessly (so not a rip issue IMO)

This seems to be the main error message.
