Hello Everyone,

I tried to search for this one, but couldn't find a definitive answer... Does XBMC have the ability to record/play live TV through a TV Tuner card? It doesn't look like it does natively, but possibly through add-ins? If so, are there particular cards that you have to purchase, or just whatever works with your OS?

Only through the pvr branch, and that require you to have a pvr backend like mythtv

Then you'd have to wait another year for XBMC Frodo to arrive. This will most likely (!) have PVR built in.

Anyways, you can still do it with a normal build. Margro provides a plugin version of his PVR client which can work with Mediaportal backends. Have a look on Google for his project page. However, I'd recommend just installing a PVR build as the plugin version is far from user-friendly. There's nothing wrong with those builds and you can even build them yourself if you don't trust the developers.
