The Mummy Subtitles
#1
Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has managed to rip the subtitles from the mummy trilogy from Blu-ray's yet and if so how they managed it. I have tried a few different ways but to no success Oo

edit:- sorry but forgot to mentionthat I am talking about 'forced subtitles'

I think you'd need OCR software to create a text file

Odd... convert to H264 the main movie with e.g. DVDFab, extract subs into .idx & sub and merge all of these with MKVToolNix . suppose to work ?Cool

I haven't tried that particular trilogy yet, but what makes them different from others?

You haven't identified what methods you have tried so here's a few

MakeMKV - http://www.makemkv.com/

Anothereac3to - http://www.curtpalme.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17002

or one using ClownBD - http://www.mediasmartserver.net/2010/03/...-mkvmerge/

any of these should be able to extract and remux to the container of your choice.

Hi,
I dont know what makes them different not clued up too much on how subtitles are coded, but I have tried make mkv, anydvd, and clown BD but none of them work,,btw I should have mentioned that I am talking about 'forced subtitles' here and not normal subtitles(my bad). I can copy the normal subtitles but I just want to copy forced(where they are talking 'Arabic' or whatever it is Smile )

At least have a look at the links in 2 and 3 - the clownBD one is specifically a tutorial for 'forced subs' that's why I linked to it.

Its not really, just seems that way. The process in link 2 is automated and has only failed me with the new Star Wars blu's and I had to move to the process in link 3 as a last resort.

So far i have used MakeMKV for ALL my HDDVD and Blu rips and have never had a problem until I stumbled upon this. I remember reading somewhere that it has something to do in the way the subtitles are encoded. As for the StarWars blu's make MKV manged them also no problem Big Grin...
Its only a slight annoyance but things like this usually end up bugging me to death until i manage to sort them out Rolleyes

No what you mean - just shows it can be hit or miss at times - hope you get it resolved.
