Possible dumb question: Does XBMC support the Boxee Box?
#1
It seems like Boxee Box is really good but I don't like the way it shows the network files, that needs a better interface. Can XBMC make up for it, and is it possible?

Any support for it also? I looked everywhere with the search function but didnt see much.

Let me know please!

Thanks!

No. The Boxee Box is not an open platform. In exchange for the ability to have Netflix and other content providers, they had to lock down the Boxee Box so no other software can run on it.

There have been efforts to hack it, but as far as I know, nothing has really come from it. On the plus side, thanks to Davilla and other XBMC devs, work is being done to port XBMC to embedded platforms. In fact, Sigma (a popular chipset manufacturer whose chips power many devices, like the WDTV) is working with the developers to port XBMC to their devices. At some point in the future, you may be able to pick up a dedicated XBMC Box.
