Hi,
I have a Raspberry Pi with Openelec on it.
I connected a strip of LEDs to the SPI through the GPIO.
Both the RPi and the LEDs are powered from the same power supply and the LEDs flash on startup when boblight connects to the boblightd.
I am also able to control the LED colors using boblight-constant.
When I try to play a movie the LEDs will not change color.
Anyone knows what is the solution for this?
I know there is a problem with X11 and RPi, but I also know that Raspbmc is able to do this so maybe the same solution applied there may be applied for Openelec.

I have to take my word back! As Memphiz & bobo1on1 said it really looks like a noise issue.
I realized that after I paused a video and leds were still flashing.
Unfortunatelly 1000uF capacitor didn't help. At least not as much as I would like. Flashes are a bit less frequent but they still exist.
Could it be the PSU issue? Any other idea? Thanks.

This is beyond me.
Changed PSU, added capacitor (2 of them) and I still get flashes.
The only remedy is speed=40 with rate=48000 or less.

I can't get boblight to work!
im running on windows 8 with 50 ws2801 hooked up to an arduino uno.
when i start boblight the colorswirl goes of and it says setup succeeded but after that i can't get it working. neither via xbmc plugin or via bobdroid.
here is my boblight.conf

150 channels, at the correct prefix is necessary.

If your device is an Adalight like, your device type is wrong. It must be 'momo'

As far as I know, boblight only works with Raspbmc. The addon is for a static boblight, not dynamic where it changes according to the video that's being play...
