Is there a way to suspend the atv2 when xbmc quits?

ATV2 has no "off" or sleep (only display sleep, which is not actual sleep).

But there must be a way to put atv2 into sleep? It is user configurable from the Apple GUI. There is a shell command called 'suspend' but it refuses to run from a login shell. Is it possible to install e.g. 'pm-suspend' on the atv2?

There's a sleep timer setting in FrontRow under General Settings.

No, no and no - you can think something like "There must be a way and the lazy devs only don't want to implement it" as long as you have fun with it - but its not possible as of now...
suspend is ment to do something totally different and useless ...

Suspend the execution of this shell until it receives a SIGCONT signal. The -f option says not to complain if this is a login shell; just suspend anyway. The return status is 0 unless the shell is a login shell and -f is not supplied, or if job control is not enabled.
