Hi, coming from a ubuntu server 12.04 installation, I succesfully installed XBMC and X so I could hook it up to the tv.
After that I've removed xbmc and installed it again from xbmc-xvba-testing to have the latest and greatest. Very pleased to see that audio is working over optical spdif for me, both passthrough and downmix - including menu sounds and crossfading!
Question: One option that doesn't seem to work for me after the 'upgrade' is the 'save this setting for all videos / audio' when playing a movie or watching tv. It doesn't seem to remember / overwrite the default as I need to change those settings every time again.
Question 2: would it be able to let the above be applicable for TV vs Video's? My TV is coming into the box from a Hauppauge Wintv PVR250, and needs other settings that the movies stored on harddisk. So a seperate 'default' would be nice.
Question 3: I've had a few times that I went a bit too heavy on the cpu usage (browsing large music list while xbmc was indexing and downloading stuff) which resulted in an unresponsive xbmc (mouse didn't even move). Had to kill xbmc.bin and start over. Not a biggy but shouldn't happen nonetheless.
One more thing, though hardware accelleration seems to work somewhat (around 50-60% cpu usage during 1080p playback - good enough for me), xbmc often jumps to 100% cpu usage when I'm just in the menu doing nothing. If I can help debug this, please tell me how.
For the rest: thanks for this great deal of work wsnipex!
