Problem with library update is in firewall.
you need to allow xbmc to communicate on public networks
then addons will work. I never did that for dharma. So if you haven't
re installed windows like I did you would not notice this, because
your firewall still sees xbmc as same program and uses same policy and won't
even report that xbmc is trying to get to internet.

Somehow You-tube addon opens port for xbmc and it self, so other
addons can through firewall.

I only noticed it caouse of two fresh installs of windows + xbmc.

I have no you-tube but library is working 10/10

This was happening on both my ATV2 and my PC, neither of which were firewall protected at the time (for testing). Installing the YouTube plugin on both fixed the issue for me!

This sounds like messed up firewalls or some other setting. Firewalls don't work this way. If XBMC, on one side of the firewall, makes a request over HTTP, then it doesn't matter how your firewall is set (unless you are blocking outgoing connections).

There is a totally different issue that is causing the default scrapers to not work unless the youtube add-on is installed, and it has nothing to do with firewalls.

well my library is updating with no youtube plugin
and i never opened public communication for dharma + my library update did not work until I opened it, you should at leas try it
