i vaguely remember reading a newspost in which an automatic update was mentioned or a function to update xbmc from inside itself.

i cannot find that posting anymore though.

do i remember this correctly? Is it already included in the eden beta?

do you want the library updated or the software? Just use google.

XBMC will automatically update add-ons, but it can't automatically update itself.

OpenELEC has the power to update itself, as I understand it, but that's the only version out there that can.
