Can someone help a noob?

I was bought ATV2 for xmas, but have only recently had my eyes opened to the world of jailbreaking.

I have version 4.4.4 and followed this version for an untethered jailbreak:

http://www.appletvhacks.net/2012/01/03/h...-tutorial/

I see step 6 states : Please proceed to the ‘tethered boot’ section below - but as its untethered, i've ignored this.

Anyway, that was successful and I now see a little firecore icon on the bottom right of my screen. Next thing on my list was to add XBMC. I downloaded putty and followed the guide on here: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=HOW...Apple_TV_2

However, ive logged in as: ssh [email protected] (the ip address on my ATV), and used password "alpine", but getting access denied. I've not changed my password anywhere. Having searched on the forums, people have suggested using wincsp instead of putty, but get the same results.

Can anyone help?!

Good point. I was using putty and entering my login name as: ssh@root <My IP address>, then getting access denied with password alpine. Then changed username to: root <ip address>. Still getting the same.

Then I did the following:

Username: root
Password: alpine

Worked straight away!
