ATV2 Airplay hostname
#1
Hey,

I just updates my ATV2 and enabled Airplay in XBMC. I would like to change the hostname that is broadcasted.

I know I can change it in the settings but what I want to do is remove the hostname that's in the brackets. So it would just show XBMC (or whatever I set it to in the settings).

Thanks,
Mike

You could compile your own version

I don't believe it can be changed at this point.

Are you sure you are using eden beta2? Hostname should be removed in there already ...

I'd have to check, I just installed XBMC yesterday.

EDIT: I am running XBMC 11.0 BETA2 git:20120120-f76c547

Under iTunes and my iPhone it displays as XBMC (Living-Room-Apple-TV)

Please call it something else. Not XBMC. XBMC is the default and when this default is set the hostname will be added automatically for allowing the user to distinguish between multiple standard XBMC setups.

LOL, I had that thought and tried it before I saw your post and yes it does remove the hostname. Didn't think about that initially.

Thanks Smile
