Margro,

Updated to beta 2 build today. Switching channels has broken again like it was in the build before beta 1. The audio is cutting out and the image buffers frequently. I have to stop playback and start it again to fix. Was working fine in your beta 1 build.

Working fine for me (except for the SD->HD or vice versa switching; this is still on my todo list).
I haven't changed anything for channel switching at the addon side.
Try to copy the MediaPortal addon from beta 1 to beta 2 and I guess that it won't change the channel switching behavior.

Need debug log files to see why it is not working for you. Could you provide me with debug xbmc.log files for both Beta 1 and Beta 2?

Edit: Just updated the TVServerXBMC plugin to tell XBMC the timeshift buffer position on a channel switch. It might help you.

Where is the Beta 2? In the Margro's site I can only see Beta 1, updated on 26 Dec.

I had the same issue with mediaportal before. Since I switched to the For The Record backend things are working much more smoothly here, without issues. I really recommend it.

Hi margro,

I tested the TVserverXBMC plugin... Didn't work. Unfortunately i don't have time to supply a debug log. I'm heading off in 5 minutes and will be away for a while.
Switching from SD-HD worked fine in Beta 1 for me however, now it doesn't.
not sure what's changed since.

1. Didn't work on previous version.
2. Upgraded to beta 1, worked fine.
3. Upgraded to beta 2, back to how it was in previous version.

That's all i can tell you for now.

Good to hear that ForTheRecord is working for you.
This gives me a valuable clue about the cause of the problem since the MediaPortal and ForTheRecord addons share most of the code for reading the timeshift buffer.

The MediaPortal addon has one optimization to speed-up the channel switching that probably causes your problem. This optimization was recently removed from the ForTheRecord addon. I will add an option to turn off this optimization.

Beta 1 had actually a "bug" that it didn't call the SwitchChannel() function anymore but always closed the existing channel before opening the new one. That is probably why it was working better in your case, because this effectively disabled my optimization.

I've got the same issue,.

have not yet tried FrotheRecord and am doing so now,.

I am currently in in my setup stage of XBMC and am looking forward and very thankful for this PVR support,. Cheers Big Grin
