I am currently running beta2 and i spent a lot of time customising XBMC, i was wondering if i will lose my settings and my movie library if i upgrade to beta3 ?

Nope, but it's always good to have a backup of your XBMC userdata folder.

do i need to backup the folder in app data or in program files ?

I don't think so because I just did an upgrade and it seems to work OK. However, in the skin I was using it had a "SYSTEM' bar and I would down arrow for quit, shut down, hibernate, etc. None of that is seen in the new beta. Perhaps some skins need to be redone?
