Currently running Linux Mint 12 X64 with XBMC 11.00 Beta 3. I have tried multiple settings with no luck getting 5.1 audio passthrough.

My aplay reads this.

I have tried the custom audio settings "Audio Output Device and Audio Passthrough Device" in xbmc and used:

plughw:1,8
plughw:1,9
and

hw:1,7
hw:1,8
hw:1,9
and
plughw:0,3
plughw:0,7
plughw:0,8
plughw:0,9

With no luck... Any Idea on what to use?? Thank you.

In both spots I used:

I can play audio from the movies via hdmi but its not 5.1... tried every passthrough setting that xbmc gave me plus the custom ones.. I'm stuck.

Uninstalled 11. Install 10.1... same problem, no hdmi audio passthrough.
