XBMCbuntu gives a green screen during playback
#1
Question
Hello Everybody,

Sorry for maybe posting this if there is a good thread somewhere, but I really did search Smile

I'm running XBMCbuntu v31 (almost beta3) with XBMC beta3.
My machine is self built, based on a 785G motherboard with a HD4200 (ati) on board videocard.

If I switch on VAAPI during playback I get a green screen, I do get sound + subtitles. Also the cpu load is very high, I think even higher then without Hardware acceleration.

I would love to get you guys some logs, but I can't seem to find this file :

/tmp/debugInfo.txt

I reported a similar issue with Intel x4500 video but in my case the screen only turns green when a video is paused and using "/" to switch between full screen and windowed mode.
Mythbuntu doesn't need viruses - we have Sudo

I've read the entire internet on the problem. Lots of people have it, but no solution.

I switched backup to windows and there I got the green screen as well.

So I concluded that my videocard was half broken.

I bought a GT520 .. problem solved..

Well I got this: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=122406
But that was an easy fix..
