Thanks, I will try this tonight and report back.

I have disabled CCC and intellipoint and I still have the minimizing issue. The minimizing happens 30 minutes after windows loads.

Wow 30 minutes later. Have you checked the log to see if it says what took focus? Nevermind that. We checked that earlier and saw nothing. Quite odd. I'm not sure. Can you check your windows logs and check the times versus the XBMC times and see if anything syncs up.

It's wierd.....Every time I reboot my HTPC after 30 mins XBMC will minimize. After that everything is ok, no more minimizing

Which Windows logs should I be looking at? Are they all in the Windows folder?

Thanks

I'm almost certain that it will Smile.

It solved my problems indeed, i watched a couple of tv shows and movies this week after i disabled CCC in msconfig and XBMC did not loose his focus. My screen stayed playing all the time, no more minimizing for me at this moment. Thnxz Smile

A development.............I had task manager running on the desktop and started xbmc in the hope that when xbmc minimizes I will spot a process start and hence will discover what is causing the issue. I had xbmc on the default startup screen and waited 35 mins..............would you believe it xbmc didn't minimize!

So I ran the test again but this time had a movie playing and after 30 mins xbmc minimized. I wasn't quick enough to spot exactly what processes started up but I did see two instances of "COM surrogate" appear in the description field.

I think I have solved my minimizing problem...............

On further testing I spotted an Arcsoft process appearing in task manager when xbmc minimized but there was no Arcsoft app running at startup, however i did see an Arcsoft process called eservutil.exe in task manager. Turns out this is something called Arcsoft Exchange Service that I assume was installed when I installed TMT5 a few weeks ago. I disabled the service in msconfig and now xbmc doesn't minimize anymore. I don't know what eservutil does but TMT5 still works OK.
