i searched the forum with no luck so starting new thread. I have a few old tv shows encoded in ogm with stereo audio in what i suppose is ogg. Playback gives no audio. With 10.1 it works fine. I saw another thread about ogg audio not working for music files so i guess ogg is the problem, not ogm.

Looks like an ffmpeg problem:
[vorbis] Extradata missing.
It may be that this is something remedied in a later ffmpeg. Not sure. Do you have a snippet of the file that allows you to reproduce it but isn't too big? If so, create a ticket on trac and attach the file snippet along with the debug log. Assign to elupus.
Cheers,
Jonathan

2 or 3mb should be fine to attach to your trac ticket.
(See what I did there?)

I'm having the same problem as OP. I just installed XBMC 11 eden and some of my older videos no longer have audio.

I pasted the portion of the xbmc.log I thought would be helpful.

How did this end up?
I have the exact same problem: no audio of ogm files after upgrade to Eden and I have the exact same errors in xbmc.log
Before the upgrade everything played flawlessly, after the upgrade only ogm (or ogg) audio doesn't work, all the rest is OK.
Also I am on a linux (Ubuntu 10.04) machine.
In my case, the file is legally copied from a DVD I own ;-)
The problem is I've ripped about 5 of these and I don't feel like going through the process all over again.

Afaik it isnt solved. I'm still using 10.1, everything works for me anyways and I like the old GUI better.

Finally made my way back to xbmc via pc, coming from an old xbox.
3 seasons of south park recorded in ogm play fine with sound on the old clunker (xbox) but not in the new "eden" xbmc!
wtf? let us use external codecs or something in windows! This isnt the only problem ive seen in my FIRST NIGHT of migrating. EVERYTHING played fine on my xbox, never had one problem since XBMP!
These videos play fine in EVERY single other media player I try! Been using this software for like 10+ years!
