Hi,
I'm trying to get analog 5.1 sound working with XBMC using a card with a CMI8738 chipset. It's connected in the proper way to the speakers. I verified this using
which does output to all six speakers. Also I verified the movie file using mplayer, which also does output the surround sound.
In XBMC I've set the audio configuration to analog, with 5.1 speakers and tried all the analog sound devices. Only when using the iec958 device, I can get some output: the background music. Voices etc are missing. I can get the voices back by switching the speaker configuration to 2.1.
This is quite annoying, so if anyone could help me out here, that would be greatly appreciated.
