VFD/IMON XBMC LIVE
#1
I am about to buy a system with a VFD on it to run LIVE (Origen M10). Before I do I want to find out if anybody has successfully got a VFD to to wotk properly
.
All the posts I have found about it seem to "pull teeth" to get it to work if it does. Is it really hard to configure or is my limited Linux ability getting in my way.

Could somebody that has this working please share this knowledge with me.

Thank You.

Yes, I got one working this weekend with little issue and pretty quickly. I used xbmcbuntu and a IMON VFD.

While I do not believe this is for Eden, and requires working off the alphas or nightlies, you might want to take a look at: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...pid1230640

Essentially he has been working on moving the support into an addon, and it seems to be working pretty well so far.

Mjdoran, I had seen that setup doc before but forgot about it because it seemed so simple compared to all the hoops people have been jumping through to get this to work. You say you had little issues - what exactly? I'll give it a try this week.

Jschoen, I checked out that link - interesting. I tend to stay away from GITHub because I tend to see everything going above my head when I read stuff from there. I guess I'll follow it till it becomes a proper addon and then give it a try if Mjdoran's link doesn't work.

Thanks

I just tried that post but my VFD still not displaying anything. Running Ubuntu 12.10 Minimal / XBMC Frodo 12.0-RC3 and have an Antec Fusion Remote Micro-ATX case. Confused
