Linux Video freezes, always after 15-20 minutes (not affected: beta3)

Hi,

I thought I saw a fix already, but since the 11.0 release contains the same problem for me, I would like to report it.

Since the RC2 (updated from beta-3) all my videos freeze after 25-30 minutes with this in the log:

Also - I have the same issue under Windows (although it will buffer a little while, say 5-10 seconds) and resume instead of freezing up entirely.

My machine is an Asrock 152D with 4 GB RAM installed.

I have tested everything by going back to beta-3 and no problems whatsoever. Also OpenElec (development) runs without issues.

Please let me know if you need anything more. I have updated the video drivers now - I'm going to check if this makes any difference.

Update: new video driver yielded no better results. I've been watching with the new Openelec all day now, no problems at all.

I know I'm not the only one. Is there no one to help to see what could be causing this?

The level of support and/or help is overwhelming. :-(
Thanks!

I have a problem where any Internet streaming video just stops playing randomly. The play will stop and the xbmc screen will just go back to where I selected the video from. In my case xbmc does not freeze. I asked for help here and got the same response you did. Then I went to trac and created a bug report http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/12858
That bug has been in a "Pending" state for over a week.

Although I don't have the alsa broken pipe warning, the interesting thing in common between our logs is this:
Code:
"WARNING: CDVDMessageQueue(audio)::Get - asked for new data packet, with nothing available".
In your case something must have gone wrong prior to this point. You need to look back earlier in your log, or post the entire log to pastebin.

My debug log is attached to the bug report, should you want to compare it with your log.

I am curious what prompted you to upgrade the video drivres as an attempted fix.
