Dumb question, but is there a way to turn off the update sound?
I have Sab notifying XBMC when there is an update, but I don't want it to play the update notification sound when it does so.

Two ways:
1) turn off sounds! Under System -> Appearance you can always turn off all the sounds for any skin
2) Remove that particular sound from the skin. If you want all the other sounds browse to the addons/skinname/sounds folder for the skin you use and edit the sounds.xml file. It should have the name "infodialog" for the notification sound, just delete the entire <window> node, and restart xbmc.
-keep in mind if you edit the sounds.xml file and then update the skin later the sound will come back and you'll have to do it again.
