It looks like Crunchyroll has updated the website to block playback at this time.
I am looking into this issue.
Until this is fixed, the plugin is broken.

I just pushed a fix so playback works again.
...but since I am faking the Android Plugin ALL playback is in SD.
If I can find a different URL/Header set this may be corrected.
Pre-release videos for Premium members still work.

I found the fix:
When retrieving the config_url you need to retrieve it with a POST and set a variable "current_page" set to the URL of the main page.
Otherwise it replies with a dummy xml file that with a blocked message.
I'm not sure how to fix it in chrunchyroll takeout--but I was able to fix my copy of get-flv with a single line patch.

Incidentally, have you considered wrapping the points where you access Crunchyroll in exception handling that deletes the cache and cookie then tries again?

I actually figured out the problem. I had Sword Art Online in my queue but it wasn't finding it on the site properly. I was getting a 404 error from where crunchyroll was trying to find the anime from. I removed SAO and now it seems to be working ok.

Not sure if you want me to try to reproduce the error again or not so you can attempt to fix it in case the site gives 404 error for other people. If you do lemme know and I'll see if I can get it to 404 on me again.

I am unable to reproduce the error.
But there are many issues with shows not showing up in different parts of the app.
This is mainly to do with issues related to the site and how the app pulls show data.
The core of the app is reliant on boxee rss feeds that, if I am honest, I'm surprised haven't been shut down.
Whenever things are inconstant between the rss feeds and the site, things break.
Most notably that is why "I Can Play H" won't show up in the app.
The shows ID is missing from the rss feed.
But there are many issues with shows not showing up in different parts of the app.

I am using this plugin on Openelec.tv and all was working fine. Just this morning I updated to openelec 1.99.1 and now Cruncyhroll takeout crashes XBMC whenever it tries to start playback. I have a copy of the XBMC log: http://pastebin.com/HGxpFCmn

So, having poked around a bit and spoken with the OpenElec developers this issue will be fixed in OpenElec 2.0 RC2. It seems they switched from building the rtmp library against SSL to using GnuTLS instead. This change is reverted in RC2 and everything works again.
