Linux XBMC Ubuntu: How to set up a static ip..
#1
Hi,

i've just installed XBMC Ubuntu - and have to admit - this is a very good alternative for a small pc.. Boots up fast and runs smooth...

Though, I have a small problem, that I need to configure my ip adress static. For some reason I can not assign a fixed IP based on the mac adress for this specific pc on my router. I need to have a static IP - so I can control it through my android phone. :-)

So how do I do this on Xbmc ubuntu ? I don't get an option booting into "normal" linux, it boots directly (thanks god for that) into XBMC.

Thank you,
Joergen

You could always use the hostname you gave during setup.
