psp remote that works in 2012?
#1
Greetings.

Sorry if this is posted anywhere, but somehow we cannot search with such "small words" as "PSP"...

I am trying to use my PSP as a wireless remote for XBMC

I know its been done, I've tried like 8 of those; none that works on my latest firmwared PSP (it does run other homebrew)

I think there must be something somewhere that should work, but that I am missing?

any pointers welcomed

Is it that nobody uses PSPs anymore, or that the answer is too obvious to post online?

I'd really like to gain this functionality and so far have no luck finding anything that works for that purpose.

Our forum search leaves much to be desired. Try this instead, which looks to have a bunch of promising leads: http://www.google.com/search?q=psp+remote+site:xbmc.org

Thanks Ned. I wasn't aware of that trick with google. Nevertheless, my searches led to similar results; none works.

Is there a way to push PSPs browser to a specific port in order to confirm credentials? Maybe we could use the more conventionnal web remote service?

Aye, try changing the port in XBMC's settings to use port 80, which is the default HTTP port.

So with this the PSP essentially becomes a 2nd monitor for the computer?

That's a great idea that is worth a try Big Grin Thanks!
