Typical running is more like 45. I have seen my shuttle go to 90 and run ok (= fanless atom plus ion2, averages about 65).
Also, re: the remote - the little window is a decent size and there's enough room behind it to put a different receiver in, eBay has internal RC6 receivers on it for about $15, or you could pop open a USB one and use the guts easily enough. Bit of double sided tape and you're done...
