i know i've got the webserver running on XBMC, and i know i've got the IP and port settings right on my phone (when i put them in, the MAC address field automatically fills in).

i can access the web UI on the xbmc machine itself, but not with any other machines on the LAN. fwiw web UI in bittorrent works fine on the host machine itself and on other connected machines,

Sounds like a firewall issue on the XBMC machine. Try to turn the firewall completely off to verify, if that works then you need to turn it back on and open the appropriate ports. The web UI in bittorrent may have added an exception to the firewall, XBMC may not have.
