hey guys!
..i think it's time for a new post in this thread Big Grin ..

i could not find anywhere a answer ... maybe i was just to stupid to find it .. or it does just not work
... so, here is what i would like to do:

- i have to stream the tvheadend channels to a kodi-tvheadend-client
-- i have a 4096kbps max pass-through limitation on the client downstream
---- basically i have 10mbps downstream.. but since i want to surf the web parallel, i figured out, 4mbps works fine
---- the tvheadend server side has an insane upstream .. but irrelevant here

-> this works fine for a profile i created
- container: matroska (mkv)/av-lib
- channels: stereo
- language: english
- video codec: libx264:...
- video codec preset: ultrafast h.264/ h.265
- video bitrate: 4096
- audio codec: acc
- audio bitrate: 0
--> ok, the passthrough might be higher than the mentioned 4096kb above .. still works fine

issue here: i get only the english audio channel delivered to the client
-> which is a bit of a pain, because sometimes i would like to hear other languages

my question would be: how do i get more languages to the client, so i can select during playback, which language i would like to listen to?
- basically i would probably like to have at least audito-track 1 + 2, since those are usually the "home-language" and the "original-language"
- (e.g. a american movie usually is dubbed in german in audio-track 1 and in english on audio-track 2)

options i can imagine is something like:
a) i transcode multiple languages to the stream
b) i transcode only video and add the "raw" audio to the stream

so, how do i do this?
(i hope the answer is not a simple "no, does not work") Smile

pl, managed it by changing those 3 settings

- channels: copy whatever
- language: use original
- audio codec: copy whatever

and now i have all the languages Big Grin

Hi all!
I need a confirmation that TVheadend is capable of doing this with proper TBS DVB-T2 and DVB-S2 capture cards:
  1. Have 1 FHD (1080p) MUX via DVB-T2 and inputting at least 6 channels from them
  2. transcoding those FHD (1080p) 6 channels to 6 multiple profiles (example bitrates, at high quality):
    1. H.264 720p 3Mbps
    2. H.264 720p 2.5Mbps
    3. H.264 480p 1.5Mbps
    4. H.264 480p 1.0Mbps
    5. H.264 360 800Kbps
    6. H.264 360 400Kbps
  3. Streaming all those 6 channels with 6 profiles via UDP, separate unicast streams to another server per every stream profile
  4. Same 1-3 points for DVB-S2 channels, also 6 of them or more.
Is it possible to do all of this via TVHeadend running on Linux?

And yeah, some recommendation for a sever hardware or PC specification that could cope with this would be great Smile
Also, recommendation for another alternative other then TBS cards are welcome too if such exists.

Thanks!
