[RELEASE] Xbmc Hockey Streams Plugin
#31

Fix for invalid logins causing crashes.
Added flash support thanks to Maciej Ratowski Smile

Flash support hopefully will help in the meantime whilst I try and figure out how to progress with iStreams.

Awesome, thanks for that! Is this limited to any specific OS or version of XBMC? I'm currently still running Eden on linux - should it work?

Thanks for the updates!

Tried v2.3.0 and Flash has similar behavior to iStreams. On openelec it doesn't work at all as it waits for ever to open the stream and have to reboot the system. On Windows sometimes it works for a bit (20 sec) then freezes and tries to buffer and freezes. Note, all streams work well directly from the site.

So I know the appletv 2 running this plugin only gets the SD streams (I lack any form of airplay capability which would allow HD). So, can I get HD streams on an android device or must be it a windows/mac device? I have been looking to replace the ATV anyways so just want to make sure I get something that is capable of handling the HD streams for this.

EDIT - Actually, can the ATV2 play flash? It plays about 2 seconds of the flash feed before freezing totally.

Thanks.

Well, there are many reasons. If you don't have a cable or satellite package, you're limited to over-the-air. For me, that means being limited to 8 Sens games. Now, I could pay for a basic cable package plus the sports package, but that seems like overkill just to get hockey.

I would gladly pay for NHL Gamecentre if all the local games weren't blacked out, but they are. What does that leave me with? Hockey streams... (at least, if I want decent quality)

I've been experiencing a weird issue with this addon after finding it.

I recently moved out to my own place and don't want to pay for cable, so this is my only outlet for hockey. I use OTA antenna for news and the like Smile

Anyway, whenever I clicked a live game this afternoon, it said "working..." and then nothing would happen. I put my username and password in and can access the archived games, so I don't know what the deal is. Any ideas?

I created this account for the sole purpose of saying thank you so very much for doing this. So thanks, because this latest version is wonderful and you gentlemen are saints for putting so much time and effort into this.

I'm finally able to play HD Flash streams without any hiccups. So I thought I post my solution in case someone else is using openelec version of Frodo RC3 (probably ok with other versions too).
Since HD streaming was not working at all on openelec, I decided to install this great Opera browser plugin to stream directly from the website as it comes with a flashplayer. After the installation (all directions on the site), I was able to stream HD using the browser without any issues at all.

Then, just for curiosity I thought I'd try playing flash directly from xmbc using the hockeystreams plugin. To my surprise, I got perfect Flash HD playback without any hiccups. I watched the the entire Leafs game in Flash HD without any issues at all. I was even able to pause it.

Things are looking up! Big GrinBig Grin

So after some testing, it seems the ATV2 can play the flash streams for a few seconds, but then the audio and video slowly become de-sycned. After that, the audio starts becoming jittery and falling way behind the video. Sometimes it can play for a while like this with the audio just getting farther out of sync. A few times the unit eventually locks up to the point where I have to pull the power and re-start it. The WMV stream has worked just fine, but sadly is super low quality (not your fault there, obviously!).

I'm sorry your experiencing problems with the plugin, what failure message do you receive upon attempting to login? If you could obtain the xbmc.log and make it available I can figure out why your having trouble logging in.

Last 3 or 4 days I haven't been able to play the flash streams (live and archive). It seems the stream cannot be found. The same stream can be played on site without any issue. For example the February 1st Ottawa/Carolina game works fine on the site but fails to play via the plugin. Here's the log: http://pastebin.com/embed_js.php?i=dtYFLcs0

I'm wondering if the API has changed as someone is working on a PlayOn script per http://www.playonscripts.com/?w=forums&p=1844&page=8

If "http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/PREMIUM_HSTV_5.m3u8" is genuinely the url you got from the API then hockeystreams.com is sending false stream URL's I will message them on their site, can you let me know what Stream you was trying to watch?
