Just an FYI, hopefully this will help someone.

Even when setting the resolution of my screen to match the resolution of XBMC, after starting, XBMC likes to minimize. I can't figure out why...I know someone will chime in saying another application is poping up and forcing it to minimize, but i delay the start up of XBMC quite a bit and still no luck.

Here is my solution:
I setup EventGhost and on its "startup" feature, i have it launch XBMC.exe, wait 20 seconds, then find window XBMC.exe, and then restore it.

Also using the web-server feature, and a bit of HTML i setup a URL i can access on my ipad, or any device that gives me options to kill XMBC, Maximize it, Minimize it, and restart it. (my remote does not allow me to send commands to EG, and i dont have access to the PC)

If anyone wants my config file let me know.

You could have also set a delay option on the command line for xbmc.exe

example

"C:\Program Files (x86)\XBMC\xbmc.exe" -d 20

Usually the minimizing is caused by some startup app or driver taking focus for a moment.
