Spartacus - Gods of the Arena
#1
I must be blind - but I don't see Spartacus Gods of the Arena on thetvdb.com...

I see Blood and Sand and Vengeance.

Am I missing it some where on thetvdb, or do I need to use another scraper to get the metadata from a different site?

Actually Gods of the Arena is now "special" to Spartacus. So you can name them Spartacus S00E01 -> Spartacus S00E06 Smile They used to be two different series.

http://thetvdb.com/?tab=season&seriesid=...8701&lid=7

This is quite confusing, since Spartacus has named seasons:

Spartacus
- Season 00 = Spartacus: Gods of the Arena
- Season 01 = Spartacus: Blood and Sand
- Season 02 = Spartacus: Vengeance
- Season 03 = Spartacus: War of the Damned (not aired/filmed yet, going to be the last season)

Ahh thanks very much for this. No wonder I could not find it.

Argh why are they doing another season.

To be historically accurate of course. Lol

Do we have to order them this way? GotA is the 2nd season, Vengeance the 3rd etc.. Just because one was a prequel does mean it should be considered an earlier season... Guess I will need to use a 3rd party manage to get this one worked out right.

Just an observation Season 00 is not a season, its -specials- all Season 00 are.specials episodes. And clearly labelled as such in tvdb.

So this page http://thetvdb.com/?tab=season&seriesid=...8701&lid=7 shows all specials on its own.

And this page http://thetvdb.com/?tab=season&seriesid=...9351&lid=7 shows season 1 and though the specials are there, they are not part of season 1 they are still season 00

Correct is:

Season 00 specials
Season 1
Season 2
Season 3

That's how it is in tvdb and is correct and there is no need to name the seasons

Code:
Season 00
Spartacus.S00E01.Past Transgressions
Spartacus.S00E02.Missio
Spartacus.S00E03.Paterfamilias
Spartacus.S00E04.Beneath the Mask
Spartacus.S00E05.Reckoning
Spartacus.S00E06.The Bitter End

Season 1
Spartacus.S01E01_episode_name
etc etc
Season 2
Spartacus.S02E01_episode_name
etc etc
Season 3
Spartacus.S03E01_episode_name
etc etc

A SOURCE directory with proper TV_SHOW_NAME and Seasons should look like imo. for correct scrapping.
Code:
TV Show Directory
|__Spartacus Blood and Sand
|______Season 00                     <   <<<       Should be 00 just to make sure Specials are not missed though Season 0 should be ok.
|____________Spartacus S00E01.episode_name
|____________Spartacus S00E02.episode_name
|____________Etc...
|______Season 1                     <   <<<       no need to add a 0
|____________Spartacus S01E01.episode_name
|____________Spartacus S01E02.episode_name
|____________Etc...
|______Season 2                     <   <<<       no need to add a 0
|____________Spartacus S02E01.episode_name
|____________Spartacus S02E02.episode_name
|____________Etc...
|______Season 3                     <   <<<       no need to add a 0
|____________Spartacus S03E01.episode_name
|____________Spartacus S03E02.episode_name
|____________Etc...
|__ANOTHER TV SHOW
|______Season 1                     <   <<<       no need to add a 0
|____________showname S01E01.episode_name
|____________showname S01E02.episode_name
|____________Etc...
|______Season 2                     <   <<<       no need to add a 0
|____________showname S02E01.episode_name
|____________showname S02E02.episode_name
|____________Etc...

XBMC after scrape will show something like

Code:
TV-SHOW_NAME
Specials  << If Season 00 exists
Season 1
Season 2
Season 3

I redid my entire library over the last few days for Frodo and MySQL and confirm that all 3 "seasons" of Spartacus work fine under the one name. I have my folder called Spartacus Blood and Sand, then season 0, season 1 and season 2 folders below that with files named as per uNiversal's post.

All scraped and appear in correct order in XBMC TV Shows.

So it shows Blood & Sand, then GotA, then Vengeance? because if not it is not the correct order.

Yes I have. That gets it so it shows as Season 1, Season 2, then Specials. I don't like it like this at all. I am trying to figure out how to get it to show as Season 1 B&S, Season 2 GotA, Season 3 Vengeance.

Go make/or have xbmc make nfos for the episodes. If you change <season>0</season> to <season>2</season> you could have GotA come after B&S. But, you'd probably then have to change the nfos for Vengeance to be season 3 and then when War of the Damned comes out, you'd have to change season 3 to be a 4...

Seems a little much to me. Especially since watching GotA before season 1 doesn't hurt at all.
