I have a few movies that are either 720p or 1080p but when scraped show as SD. where can I change this or can it even be changed at all?

Are you sure they're HD? What does MediaInfo report?

Sometimes playing a few minutes of the movie will resolve the resolution issue.

is it because it was ripped at 544?
Width : 1 280 pixels
Height : 544 pixels

also is there a way to fix it in XBMC? do I need to edit a nfo somewhere? change something in ember?

Seems fine as (I think) XBMC uses width to determine resolution and loads of my movies have the exact same dimensions.

Perhaps you should turn on debugging, remove the offending movie from the library, update it and then post the log.

If they had been in the library prior to being HD, they will show as SD until you play them again.

ok so turning on debugging removing the movie and readding it fixed the problem. but why didn't it show up properly the first time? strange...thanks for the help.

@kricker. I tried that first and it did not update.

I now usually do a refresh of a movie and XBMC seems to rescan and update the item as HD in the library. Maybe just playing them doesn't work anymore.
