DTS Audio to TV
#1

I want to connect another XBMC loaded device (ATV2, Raspberry Pi, etc.) directly to a TV (no receiver) and the question I have is that most of my movies were encoded with the highest available audio track, mostly DTS-HD, and I am curious how this will be handled by XBMC when connected directly to the TV.

Thanks in advance for your help.

On a PC XBMC will convert audio on the fly, just make sure DTS reciever is unchecked in audio settings. As for some of the other devices, this should work as well but I am unsure of the hardware constraints. Just give it a shot and see if it works, otherwise they must be connected to a DTS decoder. Hope that makes since.

Thanks Slithers, I was hoping that it would just convert it. I will give it a try.

Thanks for the help.

let me know the results. I just got an apple tv3 by mistake, (thought it was ATV2 was in a rush and didn't pay attention). When the jail break comes out, I will be installing XBMC on it. It is my first non pc based player and most of my content is encoded in DTS-HD as well.
