Had my Xbmcbuntu11.x on my HP DV2000 laptop going great until I upgraded it to 13.x.
It was a disaster upgrading as the xbmc was freezing every 2-3 mins.
Could not fix it despite following all the help from experts...
finally thought of downgrading it back to Xbmcbuntu11 by going here
After doing a usb installation of Xbmcbuntu11 on my old laptop i started off with xbmc but this time the add-ons aj and icefilms (my fav) were not working and ended up with 'module' object has no attribute 'mkdir' error.
Again started searching for solutions....
so, first removed xbmc from xbmcbuntu by doing apt-get remove xbmc.
next, installed xbmc through synaptic package manager.
reinstalled the addons and lo.......my xbmc frodo is great as usual.....no more freezes on xbmcbuntu11*.
Have struggled for a week to arrive here...so thought of sharing to someone out there who has been maintaining a similar setup (Xbmcbuntu) and going through the same pain....have fun!!
