Hi!
There's no windows installer, yet. Just the standalone executable in the ZIP. :-)

v2.6.0 can be downloaded from: https://mediaelch.github.io/mediaelch-doc/download.html (which redirects to https://github.com/Komet/MediaElch/releases/tag/v2.6.0 )

Thank you all for guiding me to Windows 2.6 version!

New/Old question:

Is there any way to do a select all and batch select movies?
Why can I Ctrl-A music but not movies?
Is there a reason for this or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!

The macOS version works on Sierra and HighSierra. It may not work on Mojave. We're trying to fix that ASAP. :-)

Is it not intended for this version to work on El Capitan OS?

Because I don't have macOS El Capitan, I can't test it, so I'm not sure about that. But officially El Capitan is not supported by MediaElch because Qt (the framework that MediaElch uses to create the user interface) only supports macOS 10.12 and above, see: http://doc.qt.io/qt-5/supported-platforms.html#macos
For macOS we use the latest version of Qt available on Homebrew (https://brew.sh/). MediaElch works fine with older versions of Qt, so in case MediaElch won't start on El Capitan, I could publish an "unofficial" version for it ("unofficial" because I can't test it). Just let me know :-)

You found a bug! Big Grin
I've opened an issue for this on GitHub: https://github.com/Komet/MediaElch/issues/647

Hi Andre, thanks for the explanation, I understand now.  Happy to test an unofficial version, the version I'm currently using is 2.4.3 not sure if there was another release between that and 2.6.0.

The only issue (and not sure if its MediaElch or the scraper itself) I'm experiencing is that IMDB scraper isn't returning any results.

Thanks

I am noticing that TV shows are no longer placed at the top of the list when searching for new shows. Anyone else experience this? I am not exactly sure when this "problem" started but I think it was about three weeks ago. Could an Ubuntu update be the cause?
Running ME 2.6.0 (stable) on Ubuntu Mate 18.04.

If more info is required I am happy to oblige. Just tell me what you need.

Edit: Maybe my memory is failing me and this behavior started after the update? Not sure. Will investigate further...

Edit 2: Been working like a charm for the last few days. I must have done something wrong myself. Not entirely sure what I did wrong but MediaElch Rulez Again Rofl

Hi Folks,

i dont have a clue if this has been asked before because the search term is to short but is it possible to auto detect HDR movies and rename them with the curly brackets like 3d movies?

Cheers

Hi, no, not yet Smile

Thanks so much for creating this, I just registered to give out a shout about this.
A native program not only on Windows but on Linux as well, open source and actively maintained, awesome!

I downloaded the latest daily AppImage and gave it a spin. I have been clicking around and it seems like I can use it just fine.
One problem that I have: In the menu item to load information (CTRL+F), I have tried switching to the other scrapers, mostly to see if they handle the "rating" part differently, which is one main feature that I want my media collection to have. After I selected "OFDb" there, it's not working and I can't change back. I see a spinning wheel, nothing happens, and the controls are inactive. I'd like to switch back to IMDB or some other scraper. Restarting the AppImage doesn't reset the "OFDb" selection and I'm stuck. How can I reset this?

I see the following in the terminal:
Code:
[MediaElch] DEBUG:    Entered, searchStr= "[...]"
[MediaElch] DEBUG:    Got redirect QUrl("http://ofdbgw.h1915283.stratoserver.net/search/[...]")
and quite a while later, a couple of these:
Code:
[MediaElch] WARNING:  Network Error "Socket operation timed out"
[MediaElch] DEBUG:    [Search Results] Count:  0

Also, during startup of the program I'm receiving the following:
Code:
(MediaElch:29361): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_set: assertion 'G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed

(MediaElch:29361): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_object_ref: assertion 'object != NULL' failed

(MediaElch:29361): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_object_unref: assertion 'object != NULL' failed

Can I do anything to make these errors go away?

Another question, is it possible to sync the information in the program with MySQL / Maria DB for Kodi?
And lastly, is it possible to add the scraped data to the files themselves as metadata, too? Or would I need a third party tool for that?
Thanks!

Hi, MediaElch does not use ofdb.de directly. We instead use http://www.ofdbgw.org. Sadly the service seems to be down. We are always redirected to the same mirror which is offline. I've opened an issue for that: https://github.com/Komet/MediaElch/issues/671

You are correct, there is currently no option to cancel a search...  I've opened another issue (feature request) for that as well: https://github.com/Komet/MediaElch/issues/672

After waiting ~1min, the request should be canceled and you should be able to change the selected scraper. So:
1. open MediaElch
2. start a search request
3. wait 1-5min
4. select other scraper

If that does not work, you can reset MediaElch's settings (see: https://mediaelch.github.io/mediaelch-do...ngs-stored )

These gstreamer issues are known, but I wasn't able to fix them. Gstreamer tries to load some libraries which aren't even required for MediaElch to work. I can't say if they'll be fixed anytime soon.
There is a Kodi synchronization option. But I'll be blunt: I've never tried it. The original MediaElch author implemented it and it hasn't been touched since. I'll gladly fix any bugs found, but I'm not testing it (yet) as there are way too many other issues that need attention first :-)

MediaElch does not support embedding information in movie files. Only nfo files :-)

Hi @archer96 how are you.

Little feature request. Kodi now allows extrafanart to be stored beside movie files without an extrafanart folder allowing for integration into kodi library.

If possible could have an option in the extrafanart tab to allows images to be stored in movie folder instead of extrafanart folder.

Thanks again. More info about this can be found here https://kodi.wiki/view/Movie_artwork#Multiple_fanart

Haha, the same thing I requested in Media Companion  Laugh

But you have also already found out that you can use the ArtworkBeef multiimage system via fadelabel control (instead of ListItem.Path) with the extrafanarts folder as well?
Thanks @MB1968  helped me to find it out how it's working... and I am currently saving myself to move all extrafanarts directly into the main folder.

I find it odd, that Kodi now supports Extrafanarts, but not in a folder, yet still puts Extrathumbs in a separate folder (oh, and .actors as well).

But, if we are going for future requests, I read that Kodi 19 will have Movie Set Artwork integrated as well. It's currently supported through scrappers, but not through local file system artwork, and works similar to Extrafanarts.

All these fanarts are going to make my Movie folders look like crap. #Bringbackfoldersupportforfanarts
