Hello everyone and yes I am a noob, good now that's out of the way, when i want to watch a video in full screen I get sound but no picture. As you can imagine it's quite annoying I have tried everything I can understand but being new to this I don't know what I am doing wrong so a little help please.

Without knowing any details we can't help you at all. What version of XBMC are you running? What hardware does your computer have? Is this on every video you've tried to play? etc.
