apart from a lack of search capabilities. Any chance of seeing wake on lan. i.e.
start app -> start PC -> connect to host once is booted and xbmc has started.

The App already has WOL... If you configured it, you can just choose the "Power Up"-Button to start XBMC.
However - it still is annoying, because you will receive a "couldn't connect" error message before you can possibly press the button.
I switched to Yatse anyway, the official remote seems to be stuck and doesn't get any updates...

In the server settings, enter the mac address for your xbmc machine, then the power on option will be visible
