What are the chances of airplay mirroring being in version 12 of XBMC? I found the below document on github, it has a section on mirroring.

I gotta say that would be a very cool feature to have. I specifically went out and bought an Apple TV in Addition to my already great HTPC just to mirror my Laptop, iPhone and iPad

I can only say that it is not a planned feature. If someone can be found to work on it, and it did work, we'd likely accept the code contribution.
