Linux S/PDIF not working
#1
Sad
Hi,

I have a Zotac ID80 ZBOX.
Installed Ubuntu 12.04 with XBMC.
Previously tried XBMCubuntu live.
In both cases. I can get the HDMI sound to work by using "custom: plughw:1,3" for the audio and the pass through device in Audio Settings.
I cannot get S/PDIF to work.
What I would like is simultaneous S/PDIF and HDMI (one for the TV and one for the receiver).
I have tried changing the Audio Settings in XBMC to various types.
I have tried the suggestions in this threads (and others):

Any help will be appreciated... after a couple of days trying I am on the verge of giving up.
I would especially like to try and figure out where the problem is (maybe something is being put out on S/PDIF but the receiver can't handle it?)

Thanks.
