Not sure about the image size. Maybe make it slightly larger with same aspect ratio to be future proof and can be also used as larger landscape images?
Something like 720x405 ?
or 1500x900 like MassIV posted (differente aspec ratio though)
1500x843 would be same AR as we have now.
Thoughts?

The only thing to be future proof for would be 4k skins I think. So then it would make sense to double the resolution.
Maybe it would be good to ask for skinners to give their opinion, as they might see different ways to use this type of image.

Just my 2 cents but due to the fact that they contain text I don't think they'll ever need to be used fullscreen in the same way fanart is so I say either 640x360 or 960x540 (16:9) would be good.

What might be intersting using them fullscreen in a kind of big/fullscreen fanart view. You won't need additional title labels ... just scroll through the fanarts ... just an idea ...
keep landscape.jpg as they are already for tv shows
additional could be something like landscapeBIG.jpg for fullscreenviews ?

They have been accepted into fanart.tv and they can be downloaded them with artwork downloader.
