Why not WMC as backend?
(2013-08-06, 21:02)MeMeMe Wrote: Ah, I see. That sounds good.
Will it show channels in the order they are shown in WMC? That would be cool. I've reorganised things there, and it would be nice not to have to do it again.

That's interesting, how did you control the channel order in wmc? I thought all you could do was order the channels by name or number.

As for linux testing, currently we only have an x86 client build for frodo 12.2. So if that works for you, and you have time to test and give feedback PM me and I'll set you up.

In Settings > TV > Guide > Edit Channels, you can move channels up and down in the order, and remove checkboxes from channels to hide them.

There's also a fan-made tool called GuideTool that lets you do it more easily, I believe.

GuideTool is what I was using to combine channels and re-number.

Thanks for the info. So I tried changing the ordering of channels in media center. You have to go one more step: Edit Channels > Reorder Channels. The weird thing about the way this works is that if you have the channel listing ordered by, for example, channel number, and you move a channel 'up', it changes the channel number in order to move the channel up the list. The wmc database keeps track of the original channel number (and name if you also rename the channel).

So yeah, since I have the option in the server to order by channel number or name (same as wmc) and since the sort uses the provided name and number set by the user in wmc, ordering is preserved in xbmc. I just did a simple test and it works. Emphasis on 'simple'.

I realize this is W7 but I tried on W8 and I received an error that assembly ehiproxy version 6.1.0.0 be installed in the Global Assembly Cache (GAC).

Just feedback.

Yeah, I know about these issues. I still don't have a win8 machine so I have not found out what is going on with the installer. Something in the todo list. Thanks.

Thanks for the release! I'll get it installed and play with it a bit tonight and report back.

Real quick. The instructions say the PVR addon will be "disabled" but mine was enabled by default.

just installed the server, which connected to my WMC ok. I was able to enable the addon in xbmc fine as well. However, when I went to enable live tv, i get an error about an unresolved error, and the addon cannot be started. Here is the log:

http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=44674

WMC & XBMC are on the same machine, and i'm testing on a W7 64 bit, if that matters.

Works great on my setup! Only bug so far: I deleted a recording in XBMC on the Recordings screen, and it deleted the file, but didn't remove it from the library. When I tried to delete it again, then it disappeared.

Thanks so much for making this! It's the final piece in my HTPC puzzle.!

No go on my end. I add the addon to the directory and it is automatically enabled. I then go to LiveTV and try to enable it and this is the output from the log:

I have not implemented the actual deleting of recording files (i.e. deleting them from disk). Mostly because I don't want my kids to have that ability from client machines. You are seeing some weirdness from the wmc database temporarily deleting the file from the database, but later when it finds it still on disk it will come back. I will add this to the todo list, with an option to enable as a setting. Thanks for the info.
