Linux Audio Levels.....unbalanced?
#1
Question
I'm on Ubuntu 12.04 Server, XBMC 12a, zotac zbox id80.

My "problem" (and i use the quotations because i'm not sure it's solvable) is that the audio across the board is some one strange. First, I can use Navigation sounds set to always, not when playback paused, but the navigation volume is much much higher than whatever media i might play; be it music, movies, tv (also anything played in a browser, such as trailers being streamed are very loud as well).

Next, when playing media files certain channels (? i'm not versed in audio talk, but i think this is correct) are very different levels. Let's say I'm watching Game of Thrones. When the music is playing between sequences if i have the volume at a comfortable level it lasts until i hit a dialogue scene, where the volume is seemingly low. Conversely, if i set the volume in a dialogue scene to a comfortable level it becomes waaay too loud in other scenes.

Things I have tried: I tried what I thought was obvious, Alsamixer over terminal yielded no results; all levels set to max/unmuteded.

I tried using the addon audiomixer, but nothing appears there ( does this addon not function with AE?)

that's it. I'm stuck here, is this just a new AE bug? it is just released after all.
