wilee, are your links for PVR compatible versions of xbmc? So if I install then my xbmc will have all the xbmc addons available for connecting to PVR's?

I know it's off-topic but can anyone tell me where I can get information about what hardware I should buy?

I have a windows PC and I have a uk satellite dish, should I but HD Homerun machine and use ForTheRecord to feed xbmc?

I have been using the Sept. 25th Frodo Nightly build. I have experienced a few issues with some of the later builds.

I'm in the US, so I unfortunately can help with hardware recommendations. You might check out the forums of the backend providers, I only have experience with ForTheRecord (www.4therecord.eu), NextPVR (www.nextpvr.com) or MediaPortal (www.team-mediaportal.com) and they work great with my hardware (HDHomeRun & Hauppauge HD-PVR's).

Can anybody get PVR support working with either alpha 6 or the last couple of nightlies? I have been trying with FTR and NPVR and neither will work.

There was a PVR API change in XBMC a couple of days ago, new plugins that work with current should probably popup soon.

As KRA77 mentioned there were changes made to the API that broke current add-ons. I am recommending that everyone use the 24th or 25th Frodo build until the timeshifting stuff is sorted out. It could be a few weeks though, so be prepared for some 'broken' builds (Frodo & add-ons.)

Note: This version does NOT include ForTheRecord.

Timeshifting is still a pull request (for both XBMC and the PVR addons), so that is not the reason of the current API change. The timeshift pull request will introduce another API change that requires also a PVR addons rebuild.
