I raported this critical bug.
try r12282 from http://sources.openelec.tv/tmp/image/ and report back (this build was not tested from me because the TV is busy with other things!):-)

Updated to r12282 (from r12055) this morning, and can't seem to play XviD files at all anymore. If I start playback of an XviD file, the screen turns black and there's no sound. Pressing Escape or 'X' during playback works as normal.
