Yes, you do. Then you add your acount name and password in the settings for the FilmOn-addon.

So to use this plugin, we have to sign up to website that some of us may/may not ever visit (and has no refererence or connection to the filmon website it's self) and then, possibly sign up to the filmon site to?

Really? That's a shame, that's like xbmc requiring a xbmc.org username to use plugins or scrapers? Shouldn't it be open to all, particularly if it's advertised on here?

Wasn't there a discussion regarding forced signups being frowned upon recently?

It's a forum for xbmc user with a more loose stance on piracy...

Just stop making a mountain out of a molehill! Just sign-up and quit moaning!

You won't be moaning when soon you will have the ability to record anything off filmon with a click of a button

No hdd space required all cloud based for quick access later

Atv2 will soon be a personal pvr without wasting space

WATCH THIS SPACE!!!!

Or rather watch other space on other forum

Big Grin

I'm not making a mountain out of a mole hill?
I only said "it's a shame we have to jump through so many hoops" Calm down man talk about over dramatic Smile

I personally think that it's a slippery sloap is all, if every plugin owner followed suit we will be forced into registering on websites all over the place, all day, just to make up numbers on random sites that ads not related to the plugin itself...

I guarantee that if tomorrow, all plugins required users to sign up to Radom websites (not related to the plugin its self) people would go bezerk and it's impractical... It's fine if that's the case for 1 plugin, but if free cable, navi x, ice films, project free tv, tv catchup, vevo, etc etc etc all required you to create a new account on some site not related to the plugin it's self.. You'd start to see the point that it's not a good model, to force registration to a site that advocates piracy, particularly when when filmon isn't a piracy related site (I.e it's perfectly legal)

Again, I wasn't having a go or making a mountain out of a mole hill, I only said its not for me... I don't think it's unreasonable for me to say that?

Good work though mike, it's good to see a filmon plugin, but I hope you open it up at some point to all users and not those specifically registered on xbmchub.

Personally I'm not that fussed, I don't really need the plugin enough to justify signing up,

I learnt my lesson with livetv it needs manual constant updating and if it's not maintained it rubbish

No thanks, I don't like the ethics of registering on a non related site (that actively promotes piracy on the front page) to use a plugin that doesn't require registration... Its no big deal man, i was only asking and its cool that mike chose that route, its just not for me, I just don't like that model.

If other plugin creators made us sign up to non related sites and followed suit we'd all be screwed Sad

I'll stick with the open plugins for now and watch filmon in the browser.
As I said, it's no big deal, I just asked a question and it's been answered but some folk got the undies in a twist. I don't care about the route, it's just not fr me, I don't want to register on a site I don't actively visit or morally believe in to use a non related plugin is all.

I wouldn't sign up a non related site etc for to use the iplayer for example is all... It's just my opinion fella, it's honestly no big deal, I genuinely don't care Smile if I have to sign up, I won't use it, if mike opens it up to non xbmc members, I'll use it...

it doesn't matter either way, I don't use the site that often in comparison to the iplayer and tvc plus rev3 etc.

I understand your reasons

I too had reasons which I don't want to get into why I done it possibly in future updates I will have just a pop up advertising the hub and in settings to turn it off but for the minute at least I will leave as is.....

I have no issues Smile

Nope... I've got SkyGo in the iPad!

Still, If I wanted to watch F1 on xbmc I would just use navi-x which has SKYF1 in HD all weekend for free with no sign up required... Now I just AirPlay the audio to my AVR (Zone 2) and watch on the iPad in the man cave or like this weekend just on the BBC in the front room or to the iPad when on the loo Big Grin

Perfect for me Smile

Again, it's ok man... Everyone's getting all hepped up just because I asked if I needed a forced account. It's totally cool, it's fine, I'm ok with it, it's mikes decision. It's just not for me, I just asked if I needed an account. I know I do, so I won't use it. It's cool Big Grin

@mike
Yea I totally understand and appreciate why you did it this way, I assume its to increas user activity on the site for advertising revenue and/or site activity etc which is perfectly honourable and I appreciate that. As I said, it's honestly fine Smile

But i hope you understand why its no good "for me" personally... Because if bluecop, hitcher etc etc etc and ohers made us all sign up to a piracy site or a torrent site or a porn site or some other random forum etc just to use their plugins etc it would be a mess trying to use plugins etc within the community. I like to keep it simple nd don't mind missing out on plugins for these reasons. It's perfectly fine.

Look at navix users, there are many and the community it's great, but they don't require a login to use it. I don't use the plugin that often but I like the fact they keep it open to non forum members Smile

That's all I was saying Smile
Keep up the good work and hopefully once the user base levels out a bit you will consider opening it up to all.

I fully get you.......

Sometimes just think over here I'm just a small fish in a big community pond

Personal reasons I prefer small communities and know everyone over there

Plus my stance on piracy is a bit different from yours.......when this place announced its position and shut Down a lot of plugins I was more like don't shoot the messenger.......
