It's still early days, but the new NextPVR addon from https://github.com/sub3 supports 'copy freely' channels on the HDHomeRun Prime or Hauppauge DCR-2650. It also supports devices like the HDPVR, HDPVR2, Colossus, and pretty much all DVB-S/S2/T/T2/C tuners, and ATSC/QAM tuners.

To get it working with the current NextPVR release you need to update a couple of the NextPVR application files. I can supply those files if anyone wants to give it a go. These updates will be included in the next main NextPVR release.

That's great to know, thanks for the information. I didn't realize there were any other back-ends (on Windows) that supported the HD-PVR & Colossus. I would like to test out NextPVR, would you mind posting or PM me a link to the app files?

Also, would it be okay if I built your addon and included it on the download page -> http://www.dotnetdevelopers.net/XBMC/xbmcpvr.html

Thanks

Sure. As a first step, download and install NextPVR from www.nextpvr.com. You can find some brief setup instructions here: http://www.gbpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?n=...QuickStart. PM me if you get stuck though, and I'll point you in the right direction.

Once you get it going and can see you channels and video in NextPVR, then let me know and I'll give you the couple of updated files to add xbmc support.

Cool, I will have another backend to mess with for my HDPVRs.

For me, I use 7MCE for recording HD OTA and watch Live HD OTA....I combined XBMC and 7MCE with this- "post #571".....
>Alienware X51- do it all HTPC
>Simplify XBMC configurations
>HOW-TO Bitstreaming using XBMC
I refused to watch movie without bitstreaming HD audio!
