xbmc on Ubuntu 12.04 Help!!!!

Sad
I have spent several days trying to get xbmc working on Ubuntu. I installed the xbmcbuntu build trying to be safe.

I don't know what have I missed but xbmc runs buggy about half the time. I have constant crashes. I know it's not ubuntu because even though xbmc is unresponsive I can always do a ctrl+alt+f1 and get to the terminal and reboot from there. Among the problems I get is "special://masterprofile/playercorefactory.xml does not exist". Movies won't start or will stop and buffer. I thought that was a download speed problem so I doubled my speed and gave 80% of it to video on QOS in my router. Still the problem persists.

I try to view a local file stored on the same HTPC and plays fine but when the file ends it freezes. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to the XBMC forums.

You need to provide proper debug information from your system while it's encountering this problem. Enable debug log (wiki)ging in XBMC and then play a video. When it starts exhibiting the problems you described, exit XBMC and locate your debug log (wiki) (xbmc.log) on your hard disk. Upload the contents of your debug log (wiki) to www.pastebin.com or www.xbmclogs.com and post the URL link to your uploaded log in your reply here.

Looks like I have found the main problem. I was usin aeon skin. When I went back to the original skin most problems went away. So far only a small glitch in playing music. It froze but continued to play the song to the end. Had to restart. However I played local video files without a problem and even watch a 1080i online video with only minor buffering.

Re-upload the log without password protection if you want others to review it. If your log contains confidential information such as IDs and/or passwords, then censor that info before uploading.

Nope, it's a blank page.

Hint: When you copy and paste the URL from xbmclogs.com into your post, click the PREVIEW POST button. In the preview window, click your URL link and see if it works correctly. If it doesn't, then you can correct it and preview again to see if it now works. Once you are satisfied the link works correctly, then click the POST button.

Nope, just a blank page. Did you click the link (as I suggested above) to verify it's working? Try uploading to www.pastebin.com instead, since you're having trouble with xbmclogs.com.

If your log is too large to upload to these paste sites, try restarting XBMC (keep debug logging turned on) so the log file is reset. Re-create your error and immediately exit XBMC and upload the new log to the paste site.

If that still doesn't work, break your debug log (wiki) into two separate uploads and post both URLs here.

Your logged errors are mostly related to the 1Channel add-on, which is not supported here (see XBMC's Official Piracy Policy). Disable it and see if your problems go away.
