It seems all strings are hardcoded. So, is there any plans to add any translation settings, for example, using some kind of resource files/xml (for example)?

It's been asked for and I'm pretty sure its in the bug tracker, its just a case of having time to do it. However I don't think the XBMC forum is the best arena for discussion since XBMC usage rarely requires visibility of such strings.
