Problem skipping/advancing on TS recording
#1
Hi there,

I posted this content on github (under issues), but apparently thats not the way to deal with bugs. I was pointed towards the forum to report bugs. So here goes.
https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/issues/1592

I am using git 3.3.16~gaa5c84e TVHeadend on a QNAP NAS. The recording completed fine (according to TVHeadend). I am using 1.99.1 Generic OpenElec for the XBMC box.

Everynow and then a successful TS recording will play from start to finish in XBMC, but will bail out from playback when you click "skip ahead" or "advance". The file documented below will play fine from start to finish if I dont skip ahead in XBMC.

I'm not sure if this is a bug in XBMC when playing back TS (over NFS), or if there is something wrong with the TS output file from TVHeadend. Hopefully someone who knows this area of XBMC can shed some light.

The log at crash for XBMC is here (line 201, time slice 21:16:22 is where i clicked to skip ahead)
http://pastebin.com/kxg9xN57

The TSInfo for the recorded file is
Code:

Scanning 10000 TS packets

Hi there,

Seems everyone has as much idea as me Smile

I have three files in my sample set, two are fine at advancin/skipping, and one fails

I have generated a mediainfo for all three, and the only difference (apart from small numerical changes) is one line missing in the file that fails to advance/skip
Format settings, GOP : M=3, N=12

The two files that work have this line, and the one that fails does not.

Does this provide anyone any clues?

Cheers,

Nathan

Ah, excellent... I'm not crazy, and it is a known problem.... thanks for the reply.... i seem to remember testing (or trying to test) some frodo builds for a similar problem to this one a while back.... if you need someone to test anything, please let me know. Cheers Nathan

FYI

I am experiencing the same issues on playing back recordings. Using nightly builds with the DVBLink server backend.
